Veena Malik loves to be in news and controversies are inherent part of this bombshell's personality traits. It was just last week when the Pakistani actress broke the news of her marriage to a Dubai-based businessman.

Now the buzz is Veena's ex-boyfriend, Prashant Singh, has pressed charges against her. He has filed an NC complaint under Section 507 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Court, against Veena, in Aarey police station.

Veena and Prashant were in a live-in relationship at Garden View Building in Aarey (Mumbai). He took care of all of Veena's expenses. According to him, Veena had threatened him and intimidated him with the fear of filing a Police complaint for rape and molestation against him if he confessed to anyone about their relationship.

Veena was planning for a grand reception party post her low key marriage in Dubai. But it seems, that will take a backseat as our 'Channo' has landed herself in legal mess which she needs to clear before celebrating.

Tanisha Mukerji, daughter of yesteryear actress Tanuja and younger sister of Kajol Devgn, was rumored to have fallen in love with her fellow contestant from the reality show Bigg Boss 7. However, Tanisha has denied them to be just rumors, and stated that Armaan is just a good friend of hers. She added that her family has never felt bad about her decision so far. She also adds, that her family has been very supportive to her and she believes she has been brought up well, and will never do anything that would bring disgrace to her family.

Film 'Miss Lovely' has been granted 'A' certificate by the Censor Board

Mumbai: Director Ashim Ahluwalia, whose film 'Miss Lovely' has been granted 'A' certificate by the Censor Board, insists it is not a C-grade a film.

The film follows Vicky and Sonu Duggal, played by Anil George and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, two brothers struggling to produce illegal sex-horror films in the mid 1980s. It explores the intense and mutually destructive relationship between the Duggal brothers and a struggling actress Pinky, played by Niharika Singh, a former Miss India contestant.

"It took me one year or so to get this passed without more cuts. We went through lot of review (meetings). It started with 157 cuts. I said we can't show the film, it kills it. I argued again, then foul language was a problem. So with every review the cuts kept reducing. Finally we were down with three-four major cuts."

"It is not a family entertainer film, it is a film about gritty Bombay...gritty Bollywood," Ashim told reporters here last evening.

"This is not the kind of space that we usually depict in our films but I am happy that they passed it. I am happy that the censor board didn't ban it and, instead, eventually opted to grant it very few cuts," he said.

'Miss Lovely' won the Best Film Award at the 14th Mumbai International Film Festival, Best Feature Film Award at the 11th Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles and was the official selection of Un Certain Regard in Cannes Film Festival.

"When I approached people (actors) with this script they felt it was a C grade film. I had approached lot of actresses for this film. I needed actors who understood this kind of film, script and space. It was not a C grade film and not a traditional Bollywood film but something different. When I approached Niharika and she said yes, I kept asking her are you ok with the subject matter, do your parents know about it," Ashim said.

Nawazuddin, who has given acclaimed performances in films like 'Kahaani', 'Talaash' and 'Gangs of Wasseypur', is not nervous but excited about the film.

"It is a good film and there are quite a few people who have liked the film and appreciated it," Nawazuddin said.

Deepika Padukone is breaking the record in award functions held by Meena Kumari

As the year comes to an end, and a new year is just around the corner, the month of January for the film industry is devoted primarily to all kinds of award functions, as it is the barometer of the success that the fraternity has attained during the past year, and recognition of the same at the public fora. But 2014 could indeed be an interesting year for cinema with reference to the award function as Deepika Padukone is at the cusp of breaking the record in award functions held by Meena Kumari and if it happens this feat would be repeated after more than 60 years.

As a matter of fact it would not be repeat of the feat; rather Deepika could become the star who would have overhauled the record held by Meena Kumari for more than 60 years. Meena Kumari in the year 1962 became the first actor who was nominated for three films MAIN CHUP RAHUNGI, AARTI and SAHIB BIBI AUR GHULAM, eventually she went on to sweep all the awards for SAHIB BIBI AUR GHULAM.

For Deepika Padukone there are four super successful films that would be vying against each other to facilitate her to have a shot at the best female actor award and the films include, CHENNAI EXPRESS, COCKTAIL, GOLIYON KI RAASLEELA RAM-LEELA and YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI. Each of the four roles are as different as chalk and cheese and the jury indeed is going to have the tough time in choosing the film to confer the award on Deepika.

All these four roles are celebration of the independent mind that characterizes the woman of the present times, even though she might have been living in a rural landscape as in CHENNAI EXPRESS, in a megapolis like London as in COCKTAIL, in a rustic surrounding like in RAM- LEELA or as student trying to balance career and love as in YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI.

One thing is for sure, in 2014 Deepika Padukone is going to sweep all the awards as all the four roles that she has enacted have given her ample scope to perform and underline the fact that she is here for a long haul and is going to redefine the contours of cinema as also the roles that are written for female actors in the Hindi film industry.

On the fashion barometer, if Deepika Padukone and Sussanne Roshan showed how chic they can look even in casuals, it was Kareena Kapoor who carried the prestigious baton of style. Full marks to her sophisticated look adorned by Gucci. Teaming it up with black trousers, black peep-toes, she sexed up her look with the ox-blood lipstick.

Other celebrities present at the Art Show were: Gayatri Joshi, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Sophie Choudry, stylist Anaita Shroff Adjania, Bhavana Pandey, designer Nishka Lulla and Uddhav Thackeray's son Aditya Thackeray.

All said and done, this just proves that all our Bollywood divas are not just about all glamour and fashion! They are art loves too! Right, Kareena Kapoor and Deepika Padukone?
